I heard about the health benefits of living by the sea. It seems that spending time by the sea makes people happier, helps with relaxation and improves mental health. In addition, sunbathing in moderation improves the level of vitamin D and has an anti-inflammatory effect on many skin diseases.
You might ask why I am talking about it. The answer is simple: I grew up near the sea and now that I have been living in a city far away from it I always try and find a good excuse to go somewhere by the sea. And when I cannot travel I look at old pictures from the region where I come from and remember the good time I had.
Talking about good memories, today’s recipe comes from my childhood: Banana Ice Cream. Easy to prepare, healthy and delicious this recipe is made with only one ingredient. Can you believe it? Yes! Sunbathing and banana ice cream are two things that make me happy.
Ingredients
- Frozen ripe bananas
1 – Freeze the ripe bananas for at least 4 hours. It’s important that it becomes really frozen.
2 – Blend the frozen bananas in a food processor just long enough to make a smooth creamy ice cream (4 minutes maximum).
I suggest eating it immediately. You can also freeze it for up 1 month but the texture will not be as soft as when freshly prepared.
Tips: 1) The bananas need to be really ripe otherwise will not be sweet enough for makes a good ice cream. 2) Before serving it you can drizzle with honey or melted chocolate and sprinkle with some grated almonds.
Ingredientes
- Bananas maduras congeladas
1 – Congele as bananas maduras por pelo menos 4 horas. É importante que elas estejam realmente congeladas;
