Lavender Cake

This Lavender Cake is an explosion of fragrance and taste. It is ideal for those special moments when you are feeling romantic or want to impress the beloved ones.

The delicate little lavender flowers give this dish a beautiful look. I would say that this cake looks somehow “vintage”. Yes, a “vintage” cake, could you imagine it? Neither could I but here we are. Let’s prepare it.

Ingredients


 

For the cake:

  • 115 g butter, softened
  • 115 g caster sugar
  • 115 g self-raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lavender

For the Icing:

  • 180g cream cheese
  • 100ml double cream
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lavender tea

1- Preheat the oven to 180ºC, grease and line a 16cm/8cm round, deep cake tin.

2- Cream the butter and sugar until pale, fluffy and smooth.

3- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing them gently with the flour and milk.

4- Stir the lavender with a spatula.

5- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until you stick a skewer into the center of the cake and it comes out clean.

6- Let the cake cool on a rack and start preparing the icing.

7- To make the icing put the cream cheese, double cream, sugar and lavender tea into a bowl and whip until creamy.

8- Spread the icing on the top of the cake and decorate with some lavender flowers.

Bolo de Lavanda


Este Bolo de Lavanda é uma explosão de fragrância e sabor. É ideal para aqueles momentos especiais, quando você está se sentindo romântico ou quer impressionar as pessoas que você ama.

As delicadas flores de lavanda dá a este prato uma aparência bonita. Eu diria que este bolo parece, de alguma forma, vintage. Sim, um bolo vintage, você poderia imaginar isso? Nem eu poderia, mas aqui estamos nós. Vamos prepará-lo.

Para o bolo:

  • 115 g de manteiga, amolecida
  • 115 g de açúcar refinado
  • 115 g de farinha fermentada
  • 2 ovos
  • 1/2 xícara de leite
  • 1 colher de sopa de lavanda fresca

Para a cobertura:

  • 180g de cream cheese
  • 100ml de creme de leito fresco (nata)
  • 3 colheres de sopa de açúcar
  • 1 colher de sopa de chá de lavanda

1- Pré-aqueça o forno a 180ºC, unte e cubra com papel manteiga uma forma para bolo redonda, profunda, de 16cm / 8cm;

2 – Bata a manteiga e o açúcar até ficar um creme pálido, fofo e suave;

3- Bata os ovos, um de cada vez, misturando-os suavemente com a farinha e o leite;

4- Adicione e mexa a lavanda com uma espátula;

5- Cozinhe no forno pré-aquecido por cerca de 40 minutos, ou até que você coloque um espeto no centro do bolo e ele sai limpo;

6- Deixe o bolo esfriar em um rack de arrefecimento e comece preparando a cobertura;

7- Para fazer a cobertura coloque: o cream cheese, o creme de leite fresco, o açúcar e o chá de lavanda em uma tigela e bata até ficar cremoso;

8- Espalhe a cobertura no topo do bolo e decore com algumas flores de lavanda.
